Quantico, Virginia– On February 1st, 2022, His Excellency Ambassador Akillino H. Susaia, and Deputy Chief of Mission Jackson Soram had the privilege of attending a promotional ceremony in honor of First Lieutenant Jack Kun as he pins on the rank of Captain in the United States Marine Corps. The ceremony was held at the Quantico Base Chapel. Major Jeremiah Peter, a Faculty Advisor for the Expeditionary Warfare School, conducted the ceremony. Amongst those in attendance were members of his immediate & extended family, friends, and peers. His wife, Jackoleen, along with their two kids, Chadwick and Louisa, who helped with the pinning of his rank as a Captain. Captain Jack Kun is originally from Kosrae State, Federated States of Micronesia (FSM). He enlisted in the Marine Corps in 2014 and was accepted into the Marine Corps Enlisted Commissioning Program as a Sergeant in 2016. In 2017, he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant and then promoted to First Lieutenant in 2019. He is currently attending the Expeditionary Warfare School at Quantico, Virginia.
His Excellency, Ambassador Susaia, congratulated Captain Jack Kun and conveyed the Embassy’s gratitude for the opportunity to witness his promotion. He also expressed to Captain Jack Kun that his achievement is another success story of FSM citizens who have chosen career paths in the United States Armed Forces.
