FSM Embassy gives support to Pacific Center for Island Security (PCIS), a Guam-based Think Tank, during its debut in Washington, D.C. Washington, D.C. – Dr. Robert Underwood and members of his team from the Pacific Center for Island Security (PCIS), a Guam-based think tank, were recently here for PCIS’ debut in D.C. as a research institute from the Pacific region.
The event was organized by in the Quincy Institute, a D.C.-based research institution. The aim of PCIS is “to ensure that islands and islanders themselves have a voice” in addressing geopolitical issues affecting the region and “to be a home of critical conversation and action on island security.” Ambassador Soram of the FSM Embassy and Ambassador Paul from the RMI Embassy, were on hand to give support to PCIS in its quest to bring more attention to issues that affect the Pacific region, in particular the Micronesian region. Other members of the PCIS Board of Director were also in attendance and participated on the panel discussion.
