Washington, D.C.-This year’s Close Up participants and their chaperones from Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) visited the Embassy of the FSM in D.C yesterday. They paid courtesy call on Mr. Jackson T. Soram, Charge d’ Affaires (CDA), and met with the staff of the Embassy. The group was accompanied by a Close Up Foundation staff, Mr. Aidan Novins. In welcoming the students to the Embassy, CDA Soram expressed his gratitude towards the Close Up Foundation for resuming this long tradition after the pandemic and for coordinating the group’s visit. He further congratulated the participants for making it on the trip as a result of their hard work and dedication. The Embassy staff and the students engaged in a Question and Answer session. Among the issues discussed during the session were the recently signed Compact agreement, consular affairs and issues, and day-to- day operations of the Embassy.
As usually the tradition, the Embassy hosted a luncheon for the group where everyone enjoyed each other’s company.
